Until I started couponing, I don't think I'd ever even heard of a rain check...much less gotten one.  Most stores will give you a rain check for an item that is in their sale paper that week but is sold out when you shop. What a rain check does is it extends the sale price of the item for a period of time so that you can purchase the item(s) at that same cost when the store gets more in stock.

Since I was in Paragould already, I decided to make a quick stop at Wal-Mart. Here's what I got. Arm & Hammer Washing Soda: This is one of the ingredients in homemade laundry detergent. $2.77 each. I used 2 $1/2 coupons making them $2.27 each. Oxi Clean Stain Remover Refills: Per ounce, these were cheaper than the spray bottles at $4.97 each. I used a $3/2 coupon, making them $3.47 each.

Let me just say that the Hays at 402 E. Kings Highway in Paragould ROCKS!!! Unlike the Nettleton Hays location, they let me use (and tripled) all of the coupons I had in one transaction. What a time saver! Not to mention a whole lot less stressful than having to get one "like" item and triple the one "like" coupon per "visit", take it to my car, go back in and get another one and get in line
